3d print in raw clay

Last week I went to the Architect School in Oslo, where they have recently got a Wasp 3d printer for clay. By the help of phd student William I managed to print one of my objects from ‘States of Matter’ exhibition. Next step will be firing the object, and if it survives that, to add glaze, and fire it againg. Exiting! So far the object looks really nice! But is is very small, so perhaps a printer with a bigger build area had been a good idea.

But as a test – format, this is super.

I am set free to find a new illusion

20160229_13595120160229_161405VR has hit dForm at KHiO! After playing around with google cardboard and a few other cheap VR googles, we decided to buy a HTC Vive set. And what a difference! It is really hard not to get sucked into the VR world, even if you know it is only a new playground. Every sense tells me to be skeptical and take a step back. But every cell just want to be immersed even more…

Taking this experience serious, I have decided to dig deeper into the VR world. We have been playing with Tile Brush, and some games. But the first challenge now is to get my own content into the platform. Have managed to import some old 360 photospheres, but the size is wrong. You seem to fly over ground, in enormous landscapes. So here is something to find out. And when that is sorted out, next step is to import my own 3d objects- and being able to move them around whith the controllers.

The Art and Craft department have the pleasure to present a artist talk by the american artist Adriane Colburn.

Colburn has the recent years been working on a series of installations based on the complex relationship between human infrastructure, earth systems, technology and the natural world.

The installations consists of large cut paper wall-works which are in conversation with manipulated objects, photographs, drawings, video and projected light.

The installations are extracted from the data, images and video she collects while participating in scientific expeditions to remote, wild places such as the arctic and amazon. The work reflects on these far-flung environments and the overall state of nature in an age where few stones remain unturned by man.

Felleslab KHiO
